Multitrait-Multimethod Matrix Flashcards
1
Q
Why do we consider psychological tests as trait-method units ?
A
It incorporates both true variance and method variance
2
Q
What is the Multitrait-Multimethod Matrix ?
A
It shows the correlation between tests measuring different traits, with different methods
3
Q
Name the 4 hierarchal rules of MTMM
A
- The values in the validity diagnol should be higher than 0, and large enough to encourage further exploration of validity
- A value in the validity diagnol must be larger than the values lying in its column and row, in the heterotrait-heteromethod triangle
- Same as 2 but in the heterotrait-monomethod triangle
- There should be more or less the same pattern of correlations in the different triangles
4
Q
What is a different term for reliability diagnol
A
Monotrait-monomethod values
5
Q
Name a different term for validity diagnol
A
Monotrait-heteromethod values
6
Q
What do we call the combination of the validity diagnol and the heterotrait-heteromethod triangle ?
A
Heteromethod block
7
Q
What do we call the combination of the reliability diagnol and the heterotrait-monomethod triangle ?
A
Monomethod block
