Multiple Sclerosis Vignette Flashcards

1
Q

Clinical Features of MS

A

Fatigue, walking impairment, spasticity, cognitive impairment, etc
Secondary to demyelinating lesions in random locations that may or may not cause symptoms
Relapsing and remitting phase before progressive degeneration
Likely autoimmune

Q

Therapies

A

Re-myelination
K channel blockers (Dalfapridine): improve signal conduction
T-cell conversion to anti inflammatory over inflammatory
Reduction of B cells early in course
Sodium channel blockers
