What is a dialogue in a comic strip?

A

A dialogue represents the thoughts or the speech of the character. Dialogues are found in speech bubbles or speech balloons. The tail in the speech balloon indicates the source of speech.

  1. General Speech Balloon- The character’s dialogue is represented by the speech balloon.
  2. Secret/Whisper Balloon- It is used when you want your character to convey a secret or whisper some words. This speech balloon is characterised by its dotted line.
  3. Thought balloon- It is used to show someone is thinking.
  4. Sound/Expression Text Balloon- It is used when a sound is introduced in the story. For example e.g. POW, ZOOM, VROOM, OUCH! and Cool! It can be written in the speech balloons.
