A
It proposed a European Coal and Steel Community which was supranational- had policy making authority, budget and laws

A
An organization composed primarily of sovereign states (referred to as member states), or of other intergovernmental organizations.

A
An I nternational organization, or union, whereby member states transcend national boundaries.

How did the EU begin?
A
Began at the end of WWII to improve economic growth and stabilise governments. Six original members- Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands
