What is an MTA ?
Marauding terrorist attack
Fast moving violent where assailants move through a location aiming to find and kill or injure as many people as possible
Response standards for an MTA
6 HART operatives
Minimum of 35 complaint sort staff on shift trust wide
Minimum of 30 sort staff to be allocated within hour
What is OP PLATO
National identifier of an MTA, only police can declare it
How would deployment work for an MTA
Allocated job or sent to RVP (rendezvous point)
At RVP don ballistic kit and form teams
On command move to FCP (forward command point) if established. Go through an entry control whether it be formal or rudimentary
What MTA equipment do you need
Treat and triage bag - bands, tourniquets, pressure dressings
Spare kit bag - black
Extrication devices - smart extracts, skeg, mega mover
What is an FIO
Forward incident officer - hart or sort operative. Provides links between command and deployed resources

What happens at the forward command point
Located on warm/cold border
This is last port of call before entering
Commanders here should be: on scene commander, tactile advisor, entry control officer
Receive IIMARCH briefing here in person or over radio
Make sure armed police with you before moving forward
What is an LoE?
Limit of exploitation
Furthest point to which emergency responder will operate within HOT/WARM zone
Can have roaming LoE also
