-skin lesions/wounds
Management of MRSA
-suppression
-treatment
Suppression - nose
Mupirocin 2% in white soft paraffin TDS 5/7
Suppression - skin
Chlorhexidine gluconate OD 5/7
-apply especially on axilla, groin, perineum
Treatment
1st line - vanc
Pen allergic or 2nd line - teic,, linezolid
Presentation of MRSA
Skin infection
-painful, swollen
-warm
-purulent
-red
May lead to beoming systemically unwell
-high fever
-SOB
-chills
-dizzy
-confused
