what imaging would you do for a suspected ACL tear
A
XR to rule out fracture
MRI is gold standard to assess soft tissue damage

what can you see on MRI of ACL tear
A
high signal in the ACL suggest injury
may also see bone oedema in lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau

what is the unhappy triad
A
medial ligament
medial meniscus
anterior cruciate ligament

what is the management of an ACL tear
A
rest, analgesia, physiotherapy, lifestyle modification
bracing is MCL is also involved
surgical: repair
