What is trochanteric bursitis and who does it normally affect?
Trochanteric bursitis is where there is inflammation of the tissues overlying the greater trochanter
It causes pain at the outside of the upper thigh
It commonly affects middle aged females

How would you classify hip/neck of femur fractures and how would each type be managed?
Intracapsular:
Displaced >60y → THR if active, hemiarthroplasty if not
<60y or undisplaced → try cannulated screws
Extracapsular:
Intertrochanteric →dynamic hip screw or gamma nail
Subtrochanteric →intra-medullary nail
