Describe the clavicle
Shape
How to identify which side of the body it comes from
Key bony landmarks
Forms part of the shoulder girdle with the scapula
Superior to first rib, runs horizontally from the sternum to the acromion of the scapula
Acromion side bows prosteriorly and the sternal (medial) end bows anteriorly
Markings: sternal end is triangular shaped
Acromial end is flattened
Subclavian groove- longitudinal indentation on interior surface. Attachment for subclavius muscle
Costal tuberous its: attachment for costoclavicular ligament. Roughened oval elevation on medial end.
Conoid tubercle: bump on inferior surface near acromial end. Attach conoid ligament
Trapezoid line (ridge) : attach trapezoid ligament
List the carpal bones from lateral to medial, proximal first
