A

soft tissue infection (cellulitis and erysipelas)
charcot joint (neuropathic arthropathy- progressive degen of weight-bearing joint)
avascular necrosis of bone due to radiation, steroid or bisphosphonate use
gout
fracture
bursitis
malignancy
