backstage
view is where you manage your files and the data about them — creating, saving, inspecting for hidden metadata or personal information, and setting options.
screen tip
When the mouse is moved away from the icon or button, the ScreenTip will disappear from view.
save and save as
A command in the File menu of most applications that causes a copy of the current document or image to be created. It differs from the regular Save command, which stores the data back to the file and folder it originally came from
exit vs close
exit is when you log out or exit out what your doing and close is something you can still go to if you go to something else or when you close out of your docment.
application window
The rectangular-shaped viewing area on screen that you are working in. In a graphical user interface (GUI), the boundaries of the window can be easily expanded or contracted
Document Window
s a section of the screen used to display the contents of a document file on a graphical user interface (GUI) operating system.
File Extension
a group of letters occurring after a period in a file name, indicating the format of the file.
insertion point
is the point where the next characters typed from the keyboard will appear on the display screen.
Jump List
This feature allows you to view recent documents in a program that is pinned to your taskbar. Windows 7.
Ribbon
is a graphical control element in the form of a set of toolbars placed on several tabs.
Shortcut menu
s a menu in a graphical user interface (GUI) that appears upon user interaction, such as a right-click mouse operation.
Subfolders
a folder contained within another folder
