Just as a sweet shop is attractive to kids, so too suggest it was bright and colourful and kids wanted to be there.

Contrast showing change and growth and maturity.
“From commas into exclamation marks”
Contrast showing growth maturity and becomes bold from insignificant.
“the air tasted of electricity”
Metaphor for children growing up to use more technology. Implies it will happen soon to them.
“Smiled then turned away”
Suggests how her job is done and she’s leaving to let them grow and explore themselves.
