Acute to chronic blood appearance on MRI?

Q
What are pathological ICP waveforms?
A
- Lundberg A waves (plateau waves).
These indicate an abrupt increase in ICP ≥50 mm Hg for 5–20 minutes followed by rapid fall in ICP. The plateau wave represents a transient increase CBV, possibly secondary to CO2 retention. - Lundberg B waves (pressure pulses).
Amplitude of 10–20 mmHg with rhythmic variation 0.5–2 min. - Lundberg C waves.
Frequency of 4–8/min. Low amplitude C waves may be seen in a normal ICP waveform. High amplitude C wave may be pre-terminal, and may sometimes be seen on top of plateau waves.

Q
Risk factors of high ICP even if normal CT?
A
- age over 40 years,
- unilateral or bilateral motor posturing,
- or systolic blood pressure <90 mm Hg.
