What is high culture?
Usually Art that’s traditional, narrowly sparse like ballet or opera.
What is mass culture?
Mainstreamers culture, heavily influenced by technology and modern media

Not questioning the dominance of power of the state

It depicts Asian societies and cultures as exotic and mystical places. Asian individuals and groups are depicted in patronising ways and/or frowned upon.

Wrongly considering ourselves reflected within the media we consume
What happens when a person is ‘othered’?
They are socially distanced from the mass audience and are frowned upon and treated with indifference.

The filtering of information to be controlled and managed through the audiences consumption (thoughts and ideas)

The premeditated injection of specific ideas into the minds of the audiences
