List and describe the 3 categories which skills can be;

A
  1. Cognitive skills: the mental processes of problem solving, remembering,
    decision making.
  2. Perceptual skills: involving how an individual interprets stimuli. e.g. two players receive the same information from the environment but interpret it differently.
  3. Motor skills: involving physical movement. e.g. catching, throwing, running.

Fine

  • involve smaller muscle groups
  • precise movements
  • (Eg. Writing your name)

Gross

  • involve larger muscle groups
  • large body part movements (fundamentals)
  • (Eg. Walking)
