Q

Why do you want to join the Navy?

A

The Royal Navy is the forces branch that I have the most experience and affiliation with, being in the URNU as both an ex student and a current Training Officer. I have met lots of incredible people current and ex regulars from the RN and I would love to continue working with such like minded people in a challenging environment as it is one i believe i will thrive in. I also like the lifestyle servicemen and women in the royal navy lead, it offers opportunity to travel whilst working which I am keen on doing.

Q

Why do you want to be an officer?

A

I believe I have the qualities of an officer and I would like the responsibility and challenge that comes with being an officer rather than a rating. I believe I am a good leader and have the necessary fundamental skills to care for and aid my team in achieving the aim of the mission. I am keen to take on that leadership role and responsibility.

A

I wasn’t getting full job satisfation. I was doing the TO’s post on top and not feeling fulfilled, I want more of what the Navy has to offer me, more than what the NHS has to offer.

Q

Why warfare officer?

A

In the future I have aspirations to become the commanding officer of a Royal Navy warship, I believe warfare to be the best route to achieving that goal. I have had some wonderful experiences on the bridge and enjoy the navigational aspects that the warfare branch will provide. The contents of the training pipeline of warfare officer are some of which i have already had exposure to in the form of
pilotage and passage planning through my time in the URNU.
