Active procastination and passive procastination
Active procastination
one puts things off but still manages to get them done last minute
Passive procastination
one puts things off but is overwhelmed last minute and fails to get tasks completed
Pure procastination
tendency to put things off
Suscesibility procastination
getting tempted with fun acttivities which leads to getting side-tracked
Reasons for procastination
- difficulty of dealing with anxiety that involves tasks
- Underestimating the time it takes to get tasks completed

the feeling of wanting to do better and better

What are the strategies of dealing with perfectionism?
- Start right away
- Set small, precise but frequent goals
- Keep in mind boring tasks are less boring once we start them.
- Fact check and rethink
- Make to-do lists at the beginning of the day.
- Spending time with non-procastinators
- Be honest with yourselves
How does one motivate themselves?

doing things because they genuinely interest you and you love doing them

Mastery goals
Students try to lran as much as possible about their topic.
Do not worry about how other students are doing and are only focused on their goal
Performance goals
Students are motivated to get high grades no matter what it takes.
They are more interested in getting high performance rather than studying the material
Failure avoidance goals
Students get pre-occupied by trying to avoid failure tha trying to do their best.
Work avoidance goals
Students who have strong work avoidance goals are motivated to do as little as possible when trying to do their coursework.
Importance of setting goals
high performers and achievers in school reported using goal setting more frequently and consistently than low achievers.
