What is Taylor’s scientific theory?
Taylor argued that the main reason why people work is money, scientific management means using differentiated piece rate to motivate workers to be more efficient and productive. authoritarian

What is Herzberg’s two factor theory?
In order to create any motivation in the workplace, it was essential to first remove the factors that cause dissatisfaction. These are hygiene factors (also known as maintenance factors or job dissatisfiers). These are lower level needs of people in order to meet their physiological needs or motivation factors.
What is McClelland’s acquired needs theory?
Three types of extrinsic needs must be satisfied in order to boost morale: (i) the need for achievement, (ii) the need for power, and (iii) the need for affiliation (good social and working relationship with colleagues).
What is Deci and Ryan’s self-determination theory?
Deci and Ryan’s self-determination theory suggests there are three basic factors (or intrinsic psychological needs) that motivate people: (i) autonomy, (ii) competence (capacity and confidence to learn and do things), and (iii) relatedness (our connections with other people in society).
What is Equity and expectancy theory?
if an individual perceived himself to be under-rewarded then he will be motivated to decrease the inequity by decreasing his performance. On the other hand, the Expectancy theory suggests that the individual may increase her performance if he perceives the outcome strongly to be desirable
What is a 360-degree appraisal?
provides feedback from a range of people who work with or interact with the appraisee, such as their line manager, co-workers, subordinates and possibly customers.
What is a Formative appraisal?
take place on a regular and continual basis in order to allow workers to improve their performance and effectiveness.
What is a self-appraisal?
involves individual employees reflecting on and evaluating their own performance against the pre-agreed standards and practices in the workplace.
What is a Summative appraisal?
conducted periodically over a period of time (usually per year) or at the end of a major task or project.
