Direction: a person is trying to do
Effort: how hard a person is trying
Persistence How long a person continues trying
Antedecendents of job performants
Capacity to perform: physical and cognitive capabilities that enable workers to perform their tasks effectively
Opportunity to perform: help or hindrance of uncontrollable events
Willingness to perform: Comprises the workers’ characteristics that affect the degree to which they are inclined to perform
What is intrinsic motivation
motivation from inside the self E.G- feeling good
What is extrinsic motivation
motivation from outside the self E.G- praise or money
