A range of factors which influence people to behave in a certain way

Physiological needs - Ability to sustain life e.g. Water, Heat and Food
Safety needs - Secure job and workplace
Love and Belonging - Part of a team and trusted at work
Ego and self esteem - Valued by other and yourself
Self actualisation - Working to full potential
What is the benefit of motivated staff
Employees work hard
Loyalty - they don’t leave
What is the difference between motivation within and motivation through external desire
Motivation without external factors
Motivation with incentives such as salary, bonus, non monetary factors
What is the difference between physiological needs and safety needs in Mazlows model
Physiological needs relate to anything which sustains life including access to water, food and heat
Safety needs relate to anything which relates to job security and the ability to secure physiological needs

Why are different people motivated in different ways
People want different things, some want to win and make lots of money other want to help society
