A

Antihistamines and Anticholingerics

Anticholinergic:
-Scopolamine (Transderm)

Antihistamines:
-diphenhydramine (Benadryl)
-dimenhydrinate (Dramamine)
-meclizine (Dramamin all day less drowsy)

What is the dosing schedule of Scopolamine (Transderm) for motion sickness?

A

apply 1 patch BEHIND the ear at least 4 hours before effect is needed

*may use new patch every 3 days PRN

A

AVOID alcohol!!!
SE: dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, pupil dilation

**ANTICHOLINERGIC

Remove patch before an MRI

do NOT use in children
