Motion Flashcards
Define the type of motion called Rotary motion?
Anything that moves in a circle is called Rotary motion.
Examine the motion type of an object swinging back and forward?
Motion that swings back and forward is called oscillating motion and is anything that repeats the motion cycle after a certain period. Oscillating motion can be used to measure time as used in some clocks.
Identify and explain one real life example of linear motion.
Linear motion can be found nearly anywhere. One example is a car moving in a straight line at constant speed. The car is following a fixed straight path so it’s motion is linear.
Explain what motion type has no fixed pattern of movement?
Irregular motion is motion that has no fixed pattern. Bees fly in an irregular motion.
A rack and pinion transforms rotating motion to what energy
Linear motion
