Q

Velocity and acceleration

  • vector/scalar (what are they)
  • displacement?
  • acceleration equation and def?
  • deceleration?
A
Velocity= speed in a direction
Vector(magnitude and physical quantity that has direction)
Scalar(only magnitude- no direction)
Acc = change of v per second
= v-u/time (final-initial v)
Deceleration/ negative acceleration

Q

On a velocity time graph

  • line= horizontal
  • gradient= ….?
  • area under the line=..?
A

• horizontal= acceleration is zero
• gradient= represents acceleration
• area under the line = distance travels
