how are instructions implemented in the CPU?
Through clock cycles in the fetch-decode-execute cycle.
One instruction may need several clock cycles.
CPU has a lot of circuits functioning for these cycles i.e arithmetic(adders), decoders, multiplexers, etc.
What are the components of a PC motherboard?

The PC Motherboard consists of a CPU with bridge connecting to the chipset, RAM, and other peripherals.
What is a northbridge?
The northbridge is a bridge connecting the CPU to the RAM and other high-functional peripherals like the PCIexpress slots, AGP, etc. The northbridge connects to the CPU via the Front Side Bus(FSB). It is called as the memory-controller hub
What is a southbridge?
A southbridge connects to the northbridge via the internal bus and helps to be a bridge for slower devices such as I/O devices, Ethernet, Audio cables, etc.It is called as the I/O controller hub
What is an LPC bus?
The LPC bus helps to connect even slower, legacy-level I/O devices that have low-bandwidth.
It also helps to connect the Trusted Platform Module that performs encryption.
Lastly, it helps to connect the BIOS/UEFI that helps to boot the computer.
What is a chipset?
The chipset contains the northbridge and southbridge. These chips are controller hubs that help to send data to the CPU whether it be the RAM, high functional peripherals, or other legacy level peripheral devices attached to the motherboard.
What is an Soc device?
The System on Chip(SoC) device is one chip that has multiple functionalities of a PC CPU, such as RAM, GPU, Network, I/O interfaces,etc.
What are the features of a System on Chip?
It helps in being portable due to its size.
It also has a low power consumption.
It is a simplified mother layout.
Relatively cheap
Used in smartphones, tablets,etc.
