Tester, Test Lead, Onsite Lead / co-ordinator, test manager, testing service delivery lead, transition lead
What are the type of projects and domain areas that you have worked in Morgan Stanley
Projects like GRRS - Global Regulatory reporting system, TPC - Trade Pre Clearance and many other Legal and Compliance IT Projects during the initial stages and later worked on developing team and test organization by bringing in various systems and test process for a group called ITCRS - Information Technology Compliance, Risk and Security. And later on worked on projects that covered the Equity Cash Front to Back flow including booking, enrichment, confirmation and settlement process.
Explain GRRS
Global Regulatory Reporting System - System that helps Morgan Stanley to reports its position in a publicly traded companies.
It has 3 parts - Sourcing the input files using the batch process from external mainframe and bloomber terminals.
UI helps to produce the results.
Reports helps to report the positions to the Regulators and other Compliance groups.
What was your role in GRRS
Started as a tester for GRRS US, LN Sales & Trading and People’s Republic of China and became a module and eventually became a test lead with a team of around 10 people on this project itself
Explain TPC
Trade Pre Clearance system - Platform for pre-clearing the trade request coming from different BUs, divisions and regions in Morgan Stanley. Depending on certain criteria, it allows for various changes to the screen displayed and it also has the email notification process to complete the trade pre-clearance requests
Explain Position Trending
It’s a platform that allows the reporting of Morgan Stanley’s position trending across various BUs, divisions and regions on a particular stock or a company. It allows you to pick different options, including date range and others to show the trending
What’s ITCRS project all about
ITCRS - Information Technology Compliance Risk and Security.
The group has products like Aveksa (a third party product), OB/OB, EMP, URP and others to effectively manage the entitlements and security of the Systems in Morgan Stanley
What was your role in testing
My role in testing was of a Onsite Test Lead. It was a long-term project which ran for 3 years and at the beginning the objective was to set up a test organization with about 20 team members in phases and to set up the test process for efficiency including the reporting mechanism and to prepare a test strategy.
The second phase of the objective was to execute the applications and manage the efficiency of the resources and deliver on the testing commitments.
What do you know about the Entitlements domain?
Provided testing for entitlments solutions product like Aveksa which helps for provisioning and de-provisioning of entitlements, on-boarding and offboarding of employees, Entitlements Management Platform which interfaces with other firm-wide reference data sources, BUISO portal which allows the Business Unit centric information in a graphical format to quickly identify critical issues, risk and take appropriate actions
What are the testing services offered for ITCRS
Starting with setting up test organization, team formation, functional, regression, performance and limited automation testing
What are the test process areas that you have implemented in ITCRS project
Definining roles and responsibilities for Onsite QA lead, Primary testers and Secondary testers, QA team structure, QA process flow, Key Test Activities and Deliverables, Test Strategy and Test Plan documents, Templates, creating of knowledge portals, Defect management process, production of various reporting during the test cycles.
