Beliefs one has about people, ideas, objects, or actions that form the basis for behavior.
Principles and ideals that give meaning and direction to life.
Importance of nursing values = shows uniqueness of profession
Philosophy
Statement that reflects the values, vision, mission, and beliefs of the org
Critical analysis of fundamental assumptions or beliefs.
Mission
Statement of the org’s reason for existence
Metaparadigm
Broadest perspective of discipline, a way to describe the concepts that cocnern the profession; how the domains of nursing are connected
Ethics
ideal human behavior and ideal ways of being, right vs. wrong
Morals
personal judgments derived from one’s ethics
Goals
Statements describing, specific measurable long and short term objectives
Objectives
Specific means as to the goal’s accomplishment
Strategies
Specific actions as to a goal’s accomplishment
Vision
critical to using power successfully; provides purpose, direction, consensus, and support
