What is a moraine?
A
A mound or ridge formed by glacial depositions.

What is ground moraine?
A
Material that gets deposited and lodged UNDERNEATH the glacier

A
Medial moraine forms when two glaciers meet and lateral moraines combine

What is terminal moraine?
A
A large ridge of material which gets bulldozed AT THE SNOUT of the glacier

A ridge of material that RUNS ALONG THE EDGES of the U-shaped valley

Often runs parallel to terminal moraines and the ridges of material mark the retreat of the glacier
