A monosaccharide is a carbohydrate that contains only saccharide unit
List types of monosaccharides
- glucose (dextrose)
- fructose

What is glucose and where does it come from?
Glucose is a monosaccharide and is the sugar found in the blood stream.
It is commonly found in ripe fruit and vegetables.
What is fructose and where does it come from?
Fructose in a monosaccharide and is fruit sugar.
