What are monoclonal antibodies?
A
Identical copies of one type of antibody.

How are monoclonal antibodies made?
A
- A mouse is injected with a chosen antigen.
- B-lymphocytes are taken from the mouse and fused with tumour cells to make a hybridoma.
- The hybridoma divides to produce clones that produce the monoclonal antibodies.
- The antibodies are collected and purified.

Where can monoclonal antibodies be used?
A
In pregnancy tests.
