What is Wave Scheduling?
Patient are scheduled at the same time each hour to create short term flexibility each hour
What is Modified Wave Scheduling
Double Booking Patients For The 1st Slot Of Each Hour.
2 at 9:00am
1 at 9:30am
And so on
What is Time-Specified (Stream) Scheduling
Each patient is given a specific time for an appointment. This is the most common scheduling in offices.
What is double booking?
Booking of two patient to come in at the same time.
What is open office hours? (Tidal wave)
The facility is open at given hours, and the patients are told that they can come in at any time (walk ins)
What is a grouping procedure
Where a provider reserves a time or day for a specific visit. (Pregnancy)
What is cluster scheduling/ categorization schedule
Booking a number of patients who have specific needs together at the same time of day.
What is implied consent
Not spoken; proven through actions like extending arm for venipuncture
What is expressed consent?
Consent that is given either by the spoken or written word.
Example: patient states what arm they want the shot in
What is informed consent?
A legal process that ensures the patient or guardian understands the treatment and gives consent for the treatment.

Grouping patients with similar conditions at specific times
