the part of the tooth which is covered with cementum, it helps hold to tooth in place in its bony socket
Root
makes up the bulk of the tooth, protected by enamel or cementum, it protects the pulp
Dentin
hard, bone-like covering of the root, it protects the dentin and holds the tooth in position by attaching to the periodontal ligaments
cementum
hardest material in the body, it covers the crown of the tooth and protects the dentin
enamel
the soft living, sensitive tissue of the tooth, it is the living portion of the tooth and contains blood vessels and nerves
Pulp
the bone in the mouth that surrounds the teeth
alveolar bone
fibers that attach the cementum of the tooth to the bone- holds the tooth to the socket

the gums; the pink firm specialized oral mucosa tissue that surrounds the teeth
