CRITERIA FOR DELEGATING TASK TO A UAP (RULES FOR DELEGATION)
Tasks:
1. Frequently occurs in daily care
2. An established sequence of steps
3.No/little modification
4. Predictable outcome
5. No ongoing assessment/decision-making
6. Does not put the patient’s life at risk
DELEGATION
A process of decision-making, critical thinking, and nursing judgment
