Why should we do HR planning?
A
- It allows for clear links between business and HR plans
- It allows for better control over staffing costs and numbers employed
- It enables employers to make more informed judgments about the skills and attitude mix in the organisation
- It provides a profile of current staff which is important for any organisation claiming to promote equal opportunities.

What are the 3 avenues to look at when HR planning?

Forecasting Internal Demand (Forecasting internal demand will require HR staff knowledge of corporate or business plans for expansion or reduction.).
Forecasting Internal Supply (• Internal labour supply will be reduced due to labour turnover (i.e. staff leaving).).
