indirect intervention
intervention performed away from patient but on behalf of pt.
protocols
written plans that detail nursing activities to be done based on pt. condition; can start these interventions without provider
standing orders
nurse may initiate actions that normally require a provider order
care bundles
set of evidence based practices from institute for health improvement that improve pt. outcomes; best practice for a situation; based on what the pt. has, not their diagnosis, ex. feeding tube, catheter, ect.

common reasons for noncompliance
lack of family support,
lack of understanding about the benefits,
low value attached to outcome,

assessment, planning, interpreting data
five rights of delegation
