Abrasion
A superficial wound caused by scraping or rubbing.
Dermis
Thin layer of skin beneath the epidermis
Aspiration
The inhalation of food, fluid, or foreign material into the lungs.
Colostomy
A surgical procedure creating an opening from the colon to the surface of the abdomen for stool
elimination.
Decubitus Ulcer
A pressure sore or bed sore resulting from prolonged pressure on the skin.
Epidermis
Outermost layer of the skin

Eschar
A dry, dark scab or dead tissue over a wound.
Excoriation
A scratch or abrasion on the skin.
Erythema
Redness of the skin caused by increased blood flow.
Incontinence
The inability to control urination or defecation.
Jejunostomy
A surgical opening created from the jejunum to the surface of the abdomen for feeding or elimination.
Nits
The eggs of lice, often found in the hair.
Osteomyelitis
Inflammation or infection of the bone.
Perineum/Perineal
The area between the anus and the genitals.
