Ecchymosis

Movement that brings the limb into or towards as straight position; opposite of flexion.

Hard, retained. Feces that cannot be expelled.

Fowler’s position
Position of the body in semi-setting upright position.
Flexion
Movement that brings into or towards a bent position.
G tube
A gastric tube that is placed directly into the stomach for feeding.
Gatch handle
Handle at the foot of the bed used to change the bed’s position
Geri chair
A special chair that assists in positioning a resident to increase body alignment and comfort.
Hemiplegia
Paralysis or lack of sensation or one side of the body in the vertical plane.

Medical care of older adults
Hypoxia
Decreased amount of oxygen in the blood.

Condition in which the resident cannot control urinary or fecal elimination.

I & O the total amount of foods and fluids infested and eliminated by the body.
