When knowledge you apply to your practice arises from exploratory, descriptive, or inferential studies about findings that influence aspects of practice, you will generate knowledge to guide your clinical decision making process around one of your patterns of knowing referred to you as empirical knowing
What is aesthetic knowing (or art of nursing)?
Where our personalitiy and approaches to creating relationships with others comes into play
What is ethical knowing (or moral knowledge in Nursing)?
How we select from our empirical, aesthetic, and personal patterns of knowing is also influence by a pattern of ethical knowing, which is shaped initially by our own values
Define evidence informed practice
the integration of the most informative research evidence with evidence from expert clinical practice, client preferences, professional clinical judgment, and other sources to produce the best possible care for clients
