What does Ofcom have the right to do?
Inspect your radio equipment
Order the restriction or modification of your equipment

What are you allowed and not allowed to do on amateur radio?
Only communicate with other radio amateurs
Can’t use for commercial purposes
Can’t play music, use offensive language or threatening behaviour
Can’t cause undue interference and must test for this
What sorts of radio messages can you NOT broadcoast (two types) and what are the exceptions to these
You can’t broadcast for general reception (talking to anyone who might be listening)
-Can do this when calling CQ for first contact
-Can do this when in a group where contact has already been established
Can’t broadcast secret codes or encrypt it
-Morse code is OK
Where can you not operate from?
Cannot operate from outside the UK
Cannot operate from a vessel at sea
Cannot operate from an aircraft/balloon
Whats the power limit for foundation?
What are callsign identifiers

When should you give your callsign, some common scenarios
As frequently as practicable
When calling CQ
When changing frequencies, transmission mode etc
Basically when something changes
At the start and end of each “over”
What are the four callsign suffixes?
/M - Mobile, car pedestrian or on inland waters
/A - Alternative Address, friends house, hotel etc
/P - Temporary, Field event with no postcode
/MM - Maritime Mobile
How does supervision work
What can the supervised person only do
A licence holder can let another licensed amateur use their equipment and callsign under direct supervision
What’s the User Service Clause
Sometimes you may be asked to pass messages on behalf of a user service , or let them user your equipment
Includes government, emergency services, medical organisations
