Module 5 - The DSDM Process Flashcards
What is the DSDM Process?
The DSDM process model comprises of a framework which shows the DSDM phases and how they relate to one another. This process model is then used by each project to derive their lifecycle
What are the 6 phases in the model?
- Pre Project
- Feasbility
- Foundations
- Evolutionary Development
- Deployment
- Post Project
Explain Pre Project
- Ensures only the right projects are started
- Ensures the project is set up correctly based on defined objective
Explain Feasibility
- Use to establish if the proposed project is feasible based on technical perspective
- Also checks if the proposed project is cost-effective based on business perspective
- It also determines if the project needs to be stopped now
Explain Foundations
- Establishes a fundamental understanding of the rationale, the potential solution and it’s development and delivery
- Aims to understand the scope of work and how to carry them out (whom, when where)
- Also determines the project lifecycle
- For smaller projects this phase can be merged with the Feasibility phase
Explain Evolutionary Development
- Ensures the solution is evolved
- Ensures the solution development team applies practices such as iterative development, Timeboxing, MoSCoW prioritisation
- Solution Development team also creates the solution increments
Explain Deployment
- Bring the evolving solution into operational use
- Releases the ultimate solution or a part of the ultimate solution
- Closes the project if the last release is deployed
Explain Post Project
- Checks how well the expected benefits have been met by the solution
