Migrating pain involving the upper extremities:
wind attacking the channels and
collaterals
severe joint pain that increases with cold and diminishes with warmth, no redness or
swelling:
attack of pathogenic cold
pain and heaviness sensation in the joints, usually attacks the lower back or
extremities, muscle numbness or stiffness, joint deformities:
obstruction of dampness in the
channels
pain and burning sensation in the joints, visible redness and swelling:
pathogenic
heat blocks the channels
sharp pain with a fixed location, resistant to pressure, worse at night, joint stiff or
deformed:
blood stagnation in the channels
chronic joint ache, worse after exertion, muscle weakness or atrophy:
qi and blood
deficiency
chronic fixed ache in the low back and lower extremities, weakness and stiffness, worse in
the evening:
Kidney and Liver Yin Deficiency
Dizziness, tinnitus, hardness of hearing, lower backache, dull occipital or vertical headache,
insomnia, numbness or tingling of limbs, dry eyes, blurred vision, dry throat, dry hair and skin,
brittle nails, dry vagina. night sweating, dry stools, nocturnal emissions, scanty menstruation or
amenorrhoea, delayed cycle, infertility
Tongue: normal coloured without coating or with
rootless coating.
Pulse: Floating-Empty.
