What constitutes a Class A bug?
A
This is a severe error that PREVENTS continued gameplay or PROGRESSION. Often requires quitting a game or restarting console.

What constitutes a Class B bug?
A
- General error that negatively affects gameplay.
- Does not require quitting a game or restarting the console.
- Moderate audio, graphic, or collision error that may affect gameplay.
- Note: TEXT Bugs are always B Class Bugs.
Example: Whole character disappears into floor/wall (Class B, Collision Bug)

What constitutes a Class C bug?
A
- Typically identifies a “cosmetic” bug.
- Minor audio, graphic or collision error that does not significantly affect gameplay
- May be difficult for a consumer to notice or detect
Example: Characters foot disappears into the floor (Class C, Collision Bug)

What constitutes a Class Query bug?
A
- Used to flag questions or suggestions for the development team. Note: It is NOT a tester’s job to make suggestions.
- DO NOT Write these types of bugs unless instructed to do so.

What constitutes a Class Legal bug?
A
- Potential copyright infringement, usage violation, misrepresentation, etc.
- Anything that is risky content that may jeopardize a title’s intended ESRB rating.
Examples: Cigars/cigarettes, use of music

What constitutes a Class TRC bug?
A
- TRC (Technical Requirements Checklist) violation.
- Violates a required SCE minimum requirement for game release.
- These are typically handled by a separate “TRC Team”

What constitutes a Class X bug?
A
- An “Exploit”, typically, but not limited to, Online gameplay.
- Includes hacks, cracks, cheats, and ability to “grief” other players.
- Notify your SQAT if you think a bug needs to be classified as X class.
