means having the capacity to have an effect on
the character, development, or behavior of someone or
something, or the effect itself.
Influence
Leaders lead by mobilizing people around a compelling
vision of the future, by inspiring them to follow the
leader’s footsteps. It’s a leader’s way of showing what is
possible and how those possibilities can be achieved
through the help of followers.
Vision
is the state of being whole or undivided.
Killinger (2010) defines it as “a personal choice, an
uncompromising and predictably consistent
commitment to honour moral, ethical, spiritual and
artistic values and principles” (p.12).
Integrity
is said to be a feeling or way of thinking that
affects a person’s behavior. A leader’s positive attitudes
are considered as his most important assets.
Attitude
pertains to the leader’s ability to do the
things that he ought to do, whether or not he likes it.
Self-discipline
is the essence of what leaders exist to
do” (Glenn, 2013). Leaders stand out because they are
uniquely capable of detecting problems before they arise
and solving them before things get out of hand
Problem-solving
Leaders who make use of the human touch – creating an
organizational environment in which all members feel
welcome, respected, and valued are exercising their
influence well and can keep the trust, loyalty and energy
of his members.
Human Relations
To be a change agent, a leader must be capable of
changing himself first.
Catalyst
Growing others is at the core of effective leadership. This
means that the replication factor of leaders is so
important.
Empowering
Always be thankful with the success you are reaping as a
leader not just to the people who are with you but most
importantly to your followers who helps you to become
an effective leader.
Gratitude and Humility
