1819 The United States and Spain signed this treaty to end the dispute over the Neutral Ground and this became part of the U.S. Spain gave Florida to the United States and agreed to the Sabin River as the eastern boundary of Texas. In return, the U.S. surrendered all claims to Texas
What and when was Gutiérrez-Magee Expedition?
1812 Gutierrez-Magee led the Republican Army of the North crossing the Sabine River into Texas, capturing the Nacogdoches, then marched to Goliad to gather volunteers. This led to the Spanish surrender and the declaration of independence from Texas.
What and when was Battle of Medina?
1813 Then the Republican Army battled the Spanish forces south of San Antonio and the Spanish won and Republican soldiers retreated to Galveston Island.

Juan O’Donoghue and Iturbide signed this treaty and Spanish rule of Texas came to an end and Texas became a territory of free Mexico.

This city grew to be the largest Spanish settlement in Texas.

This city became one of the busiest and largest ports for cotton exports.

This is where the French colonists had a settlement near this river that was ultimately abandoned. Also, the river Trinity River was able to be used to transport cotton to the ports in Galveston.
