Listening for detail is where the learner listens more intently and listens for specific details.

- Don’t be worried about understanding all the small details, you are listening for the main idea.
- Listen for keywords - content words are normally stressed, focus words aren’t.
- Listen to the speaker’s tone of voice to get an idea of the mood of the audio.
