Has Master’s Degree in Nursing & may have advanced experience & expertise in specialized area of practice (ex. Gerontology, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Oncology).
▪Works in different setting depending on their specialty
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
Educated in nursing and midwifery and is a licensed to provide independent care for women during normal
pregnancy, labor and delivery
Nurse Midwife
Have an advanced education in anesthesiology.
▪Provides general anesthesia for clients undergoing surgery under
the supervision of physician prepared in anesthesiology.
Nurse Anesthetist
Responsible for continued development & refinement of nursing knowledge & practice through the investigation of nursing problems.
Nurse Researcher
▪Responsible for specific nursing units and serve as liaisons between staff members and director of nursing.
Nurse Administrators
▪Has advance education in nursing (at least Master’s Degree).
▪For teaching Master’s Degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing must have doctorate degree.
