Module 3 Flashcards
what is acceleration
A measurement of how velocity is changing over time (caused by force)
What is positive and negative accleration
positive - going up (faster)
negative (going down (slower)
What is G FOrce
the force that attracts/pushes everything to the centre of the earth
what is the g force on earth
9.8m/s
Explain an example of how g force works
when a ball is thrown up in the air it will always come down and speed up as it does come down due to the g force pushing it down
What is the g force of an object falling down
negative (-9.8m/s)
Exaplain terminal velocity
when the resistance of teh medium in which something is falling (medium can be air for example) creates friction with the surface of the object which prevents further acceleration of a falling object
What can terminal velocity be affected by
weight and surface area
