Q

summarise prophase:

A
  • nuclear envelope breaks down
  • nucleolus breaks down
  • centrosomes move to the center of the cell, forming poles

summarise metaphase:

A
  • each chromosome reaches the pole
  • centrosomes form spindle fibres
  • chromosomes line up on equator attatched by spindles to centromere

summarise anaphase:

A
  • chromosomes split at centomere
  • chromatids move to opposite poles (centromere first)
  • chromatids are pulled appart

Q

summarise telophase:

A
  • nucleolus reforms
  • nuclear envelope reforms
  • spindle fibres break down
