- Analysis of a situtation which a patient sufferes provokes compassion from a student nurse.

- Capacity and Moral Immagination is crucial for proper patient care.
- Conclusion - we are justified in holding nurses responsible, but must not judge too hastily. We need to support those that struggle to give good care when faced with strain of the current health care system.

Their ability to be receptive to their patient’s point of view.
Nurses must bring what to their practice?
Understanding
Not just knowing lots of facts and theory, but an ability to see what is salient (most noticable or important) from the patients point of view.
What is something that nurses struggle to control in their practice?
Their emotional experience.
The strain of their job distracts them from delivering care. Tension which nurses are subjected to make a difference to their practice.
