What does the rule of PAAD mean?

A
  1. Pitch, Age, Accent, Defect.

Yes that’s right. Pitch, Age, Accent, Defect. Using these four aspects of a character you can create unlimited amounts of characterisation. Add humanisation to that and you have much more realistic dialogue.

Q

Is visualising the character in your mind key to the performance?

A

True. You only have your voice to bring this character to life, and visualising the character will help lift the character off the page and into real life.
