What is a pure substance?
A pure substance is a substance which is made up of only one element or compound.
What is a mixture?
A mixture is multiple elements or compounds together.
What is a homogeneous mixture?
A homogeneous mixture is a mixture which is consistent or uniform in composition.
What is a heterogeneous mixture?
A mixture which is not consistent or uniform in composition.
What is a solution called when water is the solvent?
Aqueous Solution
What is the distinguishing factor between Suspensions and Colloids?
Suspensions will settle over time, whilst colloids will not.
How can percent composition be calculated?
(Mass of Component) / (Mass of Mixture)
Where are metals located on the periodic table?
The first two columns/groups.
Where are transition metals located on the periodic table?
The middle section where the top rows cut off.
